Austin is one of the founders of VolleyBums. He and his brother Adam started VolleyBums while they were playing volleyball in 2019. What started as a YouTube channel, grew into a brand that now is known for hosting outdoor volleyball tournaments. Austin wears many hats in the Bums organization as he is the Tournament Director of most Bums tournaments, the DJ/Emcee of all Bums affiliated events, website manager, and now the Juniors Club Director. Austin has a passion for volleyball and growing the sport which is why he has decided to start a boys volleyball program. He is the Head Coach of the Rock Hill High volleyball program in Rock Hill, SC. With his connections as a High School coach Austin believes the boys volleyball community needs a club who focuses on the development of boys volleyball.

“My personal belief is that there is always room for improvement and growth… in my own volleyball game, the tournaments we run, my coaching skills, and my life. I take this mentality into how I look to continue to build and expand VolleyBums. It is my goal that through the Bums we can spread and grow the game of volleyball by providing more opportunities for others to play!”

In 2022 Austin began his volleyball coaching as a Head Coach of a boys team in Columbia, SC. His experiences as a player and a club coach earned him a position in 2024 as the Rock Hill High School Men’s Volleyball Head Coach. Prior to coaching volleyball Austin coached football for 7 years starting out as an Offensive Assistant with Newberry College where he was a part of their SAC Championship season in 2017. After spending 2 years with Newberry, Austin served as the Defensive Backs coach at Hammond School. During his 5 years at Hammond, Austin gained experience and earned the title of Defensive Coordinator for his final 2 seasons. He had the privilege to experience history while at Hammond by being a part of one of the longest active State Championship winning streaks, achieving 5 State titles while he was on staff.

Austin’s experience and love for sports has landed him where he is today and continues to push him to help others reach their full potential in their sport.
